An internet journal is a collection of all the cool things you find on the internet, published to the internet. A simple way to make an internet journal:
Internet journaling makes you think critically about the content you consume. You begin to wonder things like, "If this content isn't worth adding to my internet journal, then maybe it's not worth my time." Or, "If I don't feel comfortable posting this on my internet journal for all to see, then maybe I should look around online for something more wholesome." This fundamentally changes the way you approach the vastness of the internet. It motivates you to consume less brain-rot, and to consume more wholesome stuff.
On your search for better content, I would recommend using RSS. A cool fact about the internet is that you can subscribe to virtually anything using RSS because it's widely supported (it does have a small learning-curve though). By using an RSS reader to subscribe yourself to all your favorite content creators, you can totally side-step the addictive algorithms and go straight to the source, giving you much more control over your feed.
Internet journaling will not only improve the quality of the content you consume, you'll also become a "content-curator" (as opposed to a content-creator), which moves society one step closer to people-powered content curation as a viable alternative to the algorithm. Or in other words, you are building a treasure trove of wholesome content that someone similar to you might stumble into one-day, encouraging them to spend less time doom-scrolling, and more time discovering.
