Plates

I used to think that bowls and spoons were the superior dish combo. I thought this because there aren't very many foods that can't be eaten with a bowl and a spoon. How utilitarian. How bland. However, my mind changed when I realized bowls' subtle flaw: they can serve watery foods. Such "foods" may have a special place in the autumn cuisine, but they deserve no such place in my daily diet. When I want food, I want FOOD! Not wATeR! Plates are now nominated for the illustrious Thomas Award for imposing a necessity of substance on all the foods they hold - a sophisticated quality.

Gemini Protocol

A beautifully simple alternative to the HTTPS protocol that supports the vast majority of our internet. Great for people, not so great for big tech companies trying to monetize our attention.

FairVote

An organization dedicated to improving our country's voting systems at the city, state, and federal levels to make them less corrupt, and more fair to the public.

Pilot G-2 05 Pens

This model has been serving me reliably for a few years now.

Index Cards

This year, I switched from carrying a pocket-notebook to carrying a deck of index cards. It's just like a pocket notebook, but you can...

Bind them with a binder clip, wrap them in a leather wallet, and I'm all set!

Project Hail Mary

I haven't watched the movie yet, but my wife and I have been listening to the audio book, and it's honestly really clever. It's definitely one of the best sci-fi books I've read--heck, it's one of the best BOOKS I've read. I'm definitely looking forward to watching the movie when I'm done.

Atomic Bomb pizza

I came up with this pizza flavor this year, and it's my new favorite flavor. It's a ranch, motzerella, chicken, jalapeno, mushroom (and sometimes tomato, onion, and/or bacon) pizza. Get it? Atomic bomb, because it's hot and has mushrooms? Pretty clever if you ask me...

Internet Journaling

Internet journaling is keeping a list of the best content, websites, articles, ideas, opinions, and etc that you encounter; and publishing it on the internet. Not only do you have a record you can go back to whenever you want, but it also makes you more self-conscious of what you're searching for on the internet, inspiring you to focus your attention on what matters.

RSS

It helped me reduce my screen time, pay more attention to artists I value, and improve the quality of my screen time.

Thomas Award

Grammy's, Oscars, Nobel-Prizes... That's all just a bunch of celebs giving each other awards. Lame. Well if they can do it, I can do it too, and what better way to commemorate the introduction of the Thomas Award than to nominate it to win the first Thomas Award. Is that really any more self-serving than celebs?
